Management

The management of the IBO tournaments consists of two outstanding martial arts masters and organization professionals, who guide a team of skilled assistants to bring out the best in each event.

Nikolai Dumke

Nikolai Dumke (3rd Dan Kick-Boxing, 3rd Dan Karate), born in 1977, has started his martial arts studies with judo in an early age, and found his true passion in Karate and Kick-Boxing being 13 years old. He has soon proven to be a highly gifted kick-boxing fighter and kata presenter, and was able to win numerous titles in both areas, such as Grand Champion Forms of Dacascos European Open 2002, Grand Champion Fight of German Classics 2004 or Grand Champion Fight of IBO 2004, which was the last IBO he competed at.

Along with establishing himself as a fighter and successfully participating in international events like Danish Open, Irish Open, US Open, Germany Cup and many more, he also got more and more involved into the official side of martial arts, became an international referee in 2003, a BAE functionary for kick-boxing in 2005 and a Chairman of European Dan College in 2006. He was also among the initiators of the successful BAE Team Germany and is now one of its main instructors. His various fields of activity show Nikolai’s versatile talents and the commitment to his sports and his association.

Nikolai is the sport director of the IBO, he cares for the divisions, the schedule and the organization system, for the team instruction and first of all for innovating and improving the event series.

Claude Weiland

Claude Weiland (5th Dan Jiu-Jitsu, 5th Dan ATK self defense, 2nd Dan Kick-Boxing), born in 1970, is following a family tradition of martial arts and has studied several styles since childhood. He is especially known as self defense specialist both in classic jiu-jitsu and in the modern ATK system, but has also succeeded many times in national and international championships primarily in jiu-jitsu and point fighting. Claude has become famous for his special jj techniques, the “flying leg scissors”, which he demonstrated both on international show events like the Budo Gala and on various television programs.

After his successful career as competitor and show presenter, Claude’s focus is now put on instruction and on his official functions. He fills an executive position in the BAE association, trains the BAE officials, instructs referees and examiners and last not least charts the BAE course for several styles, structures and events.

In the IBO management, Claude is the administrative director, whose challenge is to provide the basis for the championships: event structure, personnel management, marketing, sponsoring and more. In his coordination skills, he builds both on decades of BAE event arranging experience and on his own acute sense of organization.
